2. What Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide (Stored Locally)

This information stays on your device and is not sent to our servers for storage:

• Pregnancy Details: Due date (to calculate trimester)
• Dietary Profile: Allergies (e.g., peanuts), restrictions (e.g., vegan), and preferences

2.2 Information Processed Transiently (The "Process & Forget" Model)

When you use the Visual Recognition feature:

• Food Images: Photos you take or upload are sent to our secure proxy.
• Processing: They are forwarded to our AI partner solely for analysis.
• Deletion: Once the safety verdict is returned, the image is permanently deleted. We do not store it.

2.3 Information We Collect Automatically

Device & Technical Information:

• Device ID: A unique anonymous identifier (stored locally)
• Technical Details: Device model, iOS version, app version
• Purchase Data: Subscription status (linked to your Apple ID, not your email)

Usage Information (Anonymized):

• App Interactions: Which screens you view, how many scans you perform
• Crash Reports: Technical data when something goes wrong (via Sentry)

2.4 Information We DON'T Collect

• ❌ Contacts or address book
• ❌ Photos from your gallery (unless you explicitly select one for scanning)
• ❌ Advertising identifiers

2.5 Special Category Data - Health Information

⚠️ IMPORTANT - PLEASE READ CAREFULLY:

To provide accurate safety advice, you may input health data (pregnancy stage, allergies).

This information is:

• 100% OPTIONAL - You can use the app without inputting this data
• Stored Locally - It resides on your iPhone, not our database
• Specially Protected - Treated as sensitive health data under GDPR
• Used ONLY to filter food safety results (e.g., flagging allergens)

Your explicit consent: By inputting this information, you explicitly consent to the App processing this data locally to provide the service. You can withdraw consent at any time by simply deleting the data fields or the App.

3. How We Use Your Information

3.1 To Provide Our Service

Legal Basis: Contract Performance

We use your information to:

• Analyze food images to provide safety verdicts ("Safe", "Caution", "Avoid")
• Calculate your current trimester based on the due date
• Check food ingredients against your specific allergies
• Manage your "Unlock" (subscription) status via the App Store

• Understand which features are most used (via anonymized analytics)
• Fix bugs and improve AI accuracy
• Ensure security and prevent abuse

4. Who We Share Your Data With

We only share data with service providers necessary to run PEAR. We do not sell data.

4.1 AI Processing Partners (Transient Only)

Your images are processed by enterprise-grade AI models (e.g., OpenAI, Google Vision) solely for the purpose of identification.

• Retention: Zero. Images are not used for model training and are deleted after inference.

4.2 Infrastructure & Service Providers

4.3 We Never Share Your Data For:

• ❌ Advertising or marketing to third parties
• ❌ Data brokers or resellers

5. International Data Transfers

• We are based in Poland (EU).
• Some services (RevenueCat, AI providers) may process data in the US.
• We rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) to ensure your rights are protected regardless of location.

6. How Long We Keep Your Data

7. Your Privacy Rights (GDPR)

Since we do not have user accounts (no email/name), we cannot "look up" your data on our servers—because it isn't there.

7.1 How to Exercise Your Rights

• Access & Portability: All your data is already on your phone. You can view it in the App settings.
• Deletion: Simply delete the PEAR app from your device. This instantly destroys all local data (due date, allergies, history).
• Correction: You can edit your due date or allergies inside the App settings at any time.

7.2 Complaints

You can complain to:

• Polish Data Protection Authority (UODO)
• Your local EU supervisory authority

8. Data Security

8.1 Technical Measures

• ✅ HTTPS encryption for image transmission
• ✅ Sandboxed Storage: iOS prevents other apps from reading PEAR's data
• ✅ No Central Database: There is no "honeypot" of user health records to hack

9. Children's Privacy

• PEAR is intended for use by adults (pregnant women and their partners).
• You must be 18 years or older to use the App.
• We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. For significant changes, we will notify you via an App Store update or an in-app notification. Continued use after changes means acceptance.
